Live TV PVR - Configuration Guide

Sparkle TV Application is a third-party PVR player that lets you stream and watch Live TV using your Apollo Account on your Google or Amazon Products. Essentially you will have a seperate application for live tv, then use Apollo / Startup Show for your Video On-Demand content. Generally, Apollo does have a vast selection of up to date content on-demand but some users may want that added customization.

Conditions:

• Need at least one Google Device. Then can be used on Amazon Products. (access on up to 5 devices with one account)

• At Least 1 Google Device: Need at least one google device to be able to purchase and initially install the application (ie ONN Device; Chromecast etc ie access to Google Play Store)

• ‘OTG’ Splitter Cord: Unless your device (that has apollo installed on) has a USB port; will need to purchase a splitter cable that will allow you to plug in a USB Harddrive into your device being your external storage device for recorded shows.

Firestick OTG Cable: (MicroUSB OTG CABLE – 2 pack – $6.94 CAD)

• USB Device: Will need to purchase a USB Device (3.0 or higher) that will be used as your storage device for recorded shows. One Hour of recording is about 2 Gig of data. Many options and pricing online or in retail. Used SanDisk as an example.

        Benefit of Purchasing Sparkle TV Plus: Logotypes; DVR; Timeshift (play/pause/seek); VOD (not available with an apollo account); Multiple sources; Favorites; and more.

STEP 1: From the Google Play Store: Download Sparkle Player:

Google Play Store

• Your Google Device will show up, as your google email will be used to sign into your Google Device as well your Google Web Browser.

STEP 2: Configure Sparkle TV to your Apollo Account (on google device) M3U Setup.

• Can Move Sparkle TV to your Home Screen (reorder apps)
• Open Sparkle TV on your Google Device
• Select, ‘Add New Source‘

(Please note once start set up, finish as if you exit midway, will need to re-enter all the information!)

• Select, ‘Playlist (M3U)‘ and Type the M3U Link below (replace USERNAME and PASSWORD with your account information), Then Select, ‘Next‘.

STEP 3: Configure Sparkle TV to your Apollo Account (on google device) EPG Setup.

• Select, ‘Add XMLTV EPG URL‘
• Type the Provided EPG Link below, Then Select, ‘Done‘.

STEP 4: Configure Sparkle TV to your Apollo Account (on google device) Playlist Options Setup.

• Select, ‘DVR Location‘
• Select, ‘USB‘

• Select, ‘Time Shift Buffer Location‘
• Select, ‘USB‘

• Select, ‘Add‘
• Select, ‘Done‘
• Select, ‘Finish‘

STEP 5: Purchase Sparkle Plus

• Select Settings, then, ‘Purchase Sparkle Plus Account‘

STEP 5: Setup ability to share account on other devices (Amazon or Google)

• Select Settings, then About, then ‘Connect shared Plus account‘

• Then input a (made up or real) email and password to share the account. Would suggest using current apollo info to not make things confusing. The email is not actually used and simply is used as a Sign in credential to share the Sparkle account of multiple devices. (up to 5 devices)

STEP 6: Install on Secondary Devices (Amazon / Google)

AMAZON:

• Amazon: Downloader Code (376012)
• To be able to Update the Application Allow Access (Home -> My Fire TV -> Developer Options -> Install Unknown Applications -> Allow Sparkle TV

GOOGLE: 

• Go to Google Play Store Google Play Store

Open Application: Go to Settings -> Connect Plus Account -> Enter Email and Password (Step 5) then Enter. Will then have access to your Sparkle Account. You will need to ‘Add a Source’ ie follow Step 2.
