Playback Error - Internet Throttling Campaign
Since last Saturday (March 22nd), major internet providers have begun actively throttling IPTV traffic during peak evening and weekend hours. This issue, similar to a previous event five months ago, typically lasts 10-14 days and primarily affects live TV streams. Apollo TV has two separate feeds: live TV and on-demand content. Currently, the live TV feed is being specifically targeted with an unusual amount of resources during this campaign.
United States vs US City Server:
Normally, connecting to the general United States location works perfectly. However, given the current situation, we strongly advise connecting directly to a specific US city server (not located near the US border, as border connections may be impacted). Additional recommended city options are provided.
Recommended Immediate Solution:
Follow our simple VPN configuration guide to bypass throttling. Our recommended VPN is just CAD $2.53/month on a two-year term (unlimited devices) with a 30-day money-back guarantee. This solution will immediately improve your connection.
Connect to Specific US City Server:
- Open IPVanish and choose a specific US city (e.g., Kansas City).
- Favourite the city, select it again, and choose a specific server (e.g., MCI-A19).
- Return to Startup Show and test live TV.
- If issues persist, disconnect and reconnect to the same server.
- If necessary, select the next available server (e.g., MCI-A20) and retry.
Connecting to a recommended city server will restore your live TV feed and help stabilize your streaming.
Overall do not expect this to be a long-term issue, but in general do recommended to seamlessly run a VPN to avoid these potential issues. If you do follow our recommendations, and still need assistance please reach out.
